Reggio: Exploring Early Maori Houses

In Reggio this term 8B4 are looking into the past, we wanted to find out what the early Maori houses were like. During our Museum visit we learnt some skills the Maori used and also learnt about the the materials the Maoris used. Firstly we drew pictures of what we thought the early Maori houses looked like and then we tried making some. We were not allowed hammers so we had to use large stones to nail in the nails into the wood, we were not allowed glue so some of us tried using mud. After working on our houses some of ran out of materials, so we decided to trade materials with each other like the early Maori. Many of us got frustrated because it took us so long and it was sometimes hard, we learnt it took the early Maori a long time to make things.
