Reggio: Exploring Early Maori Houses

In Reggio this term 8B4 are looking into the past, we wanted to find out what the early Maori houses were like. During our Museum visit we learnt some skills the Maori used and also learnt about the the materials the Maoris used. Firstly we drew pictures of what we thought the early Maori houses looked like and then we tried making some. We were not allowed hammers so we had to use large stones to nail in the nails into the wood, we were not allowed glue so some of us tried using mud. After working on our houses some of ran out of materials, so we decided to trade materials with each other like the early Maori. Many of us got frustrated because it took us so long and it was sometimes hard, we learnt it took the early Maori a long time to make things.

Fuzzywuzzy Land!

Once upon a time. Bam! A comet burst out in space. It cracked with a loud roaring rumble into two pieces! One piece was heading to a cute, pretty planet called planet Fuzzywuzzy. While the other half of the whole comet floated on a long journey in space, not knowing where it was going. The president called Fluffy Fantail called up the fuzzerinators and the president Fluffy Fantail said “save us, save us please!” . The power of the ring around us has died out, save us please! The fuzzerinator said, “no worries, it is not like I haven’t done it before”. When the little alien saw the comet he thought it was a spaceship and shouted out to Fuzzywuzzy land. “That’s a weird and wonderful spaceship, how fast does it go?” No one answered they were too busy screaming their heads off as the whole comet was coming! Then the fuzzerinator tried his powers on the comet and saw a criminal controlling the comet. The evil criminal pushed a button called ‘sting hard losser’ and the fuzzerinator lost his powers and fell to the steal grey ground. The little alien who was hiding in the bushes pulled out his bow and arrow and shot it up at the hurling comet. It wound around the criminal and captured him. Fuzzywuzzy land had escaped certain doom and everyone lived happy every after.
